We have news this week of two performances featuring members of Chudleigh Writers’ Circle, one performing her own one-woman show, while the other is part of a company delivering the words of playwright Terence Frisby.
Earlier this year, I had the pleasure of attending the premiere of Jackie Juno’s one-woman show SPELLBOUND Being the True Tale of a Reluctant Witch Unable to Escape her Destiny. Filled with Jackie’s unusual mix of humour and philosophy, it is a fascinating insight into her development into the mature (?) person she is today. And you have a chance to see this multi-media show on Saturday 23rd June at The Old School in South Brent. The evening is called Call of the Wild and in addition to SPELLBOUND, you will see Rachel Miller perform BABA YAGA A Fiery Cinderella Tale with no Prince and a Dark Twist. You can find all the details by clicking here.
And, although it’s a bit short notice, you are just in time to see Bea Hutchings in the latest TOADS production, Rough Justice, which has been playing all week at the Little Theatre in Torquay.
James Highwood, host of a popular TV programme called ‘British Justice’, is on trial accused of murdering his mentally disabled child. Highwood refuses legal representation and conducts his own defence, admitting responsibility but pleading manslaughter. The question is – Did Highwood actually kill his child after all?
There are performances today at 2.30pm and 7.30pm. Details can be found by clicking here.
