This week we meet the latest member to join Chudleigh Writers’ Circle. Paul is a long-time musician and composer, with an Ivor Novello award to his name, who is now dipping his toe into the waters of writing fiction. Welcome to the group, Paul.
What do I write?
I enjoy speculative fiction and try to write exciting stories with unexpected twists.
When and where do I write?
I like to write in the morning and will often begin, cup of tea by my side by 7am. This is usually as near to the AGA as possible in the winter. Then it’s an hour-long dog walk, breakfast and back to writing all the way through to lunch. I aim to write at least 1000 words a day.
Best writerly moment?
Dreaming the plot for my latest novel.
Not a lot of people know…
…I’ve been a professional composer since 1983 and toured with Depeche Mode!
