Over the next few weeks, we’re going to relive some of the highlights of the recent Literary Festival, held as part of the Summer Spectacular of Chudfest and Carnival. This week, long-time member and former Chair of Chudleigh Writers, Manny Lewis, takes us back in time, as she talks about the workshop on writing historic fact and fiction, given by local historian Dr Todd Gray.

For the ninth straight year, Chudleigh Writers’ Circle hosted a one-day Literary Festival on the Wednesday of Chudfest week, taking over the marquee for a whole twelve hours. And what a great day it was. From the moment people started arriving just after 9am until the last person left more than twelve hours later, we drank tea or coffee until the bar opened; nibbled our way through six packets of biscuits; demolished lunch and supper; and talked writing, writers and words all day! For the past year, Chudleigh Writers Circle has been taking part in a Joint Arts Project with Newton Abbot Writers Group, Newton Abbot Photographic Group and Newton Art Group.
